Background evidence

In September 2009, local agencies from the public, private, community and voluntary sectors were asked about the challenges facing the area in terms of housing, environment, sustainability, transport, amenities, health, inequalities, education, training, employment, business, and staying and feeling safe. They were asked to provide statistical evidence and also insights from their experience of working here. The information they provided formed the basis of Section 4 of waves ahead, ‘About Adur and Worthing’.

In combination with the results of the public consultation, the evidence collected also shaped the Priorities for Change (Section 5) in waves ahead. You can see below the evidence base for each of the four themes:

  • A better place to live, work and enjoy
  • Better health and wellbeing for all
  • Learning, training and employment opportunities for all
  • Staying and feeling safe

The list of partners who were consulted is available on other tabs for this section, as well as the long list of issues from which the final priorities were selected.
